So there seems to be an extreme atack on peoples lives this week! first of all just about every one I know, their air conditioner went out, two families that I know of lost a child this weekend!, mariage problems, relationship problems, financial problems! it's been bad story after bad story! I know life happens, but it just seems like it's extra bad this week!
John 11 talks about a friend of Jesus, who was very sick, his name was Lazarus, most of you probably know the story pretty well.
When Jesus was told that Lazarus was sick he said something: "Lazarus's sickness will not end in death." well we all know the story when Jesus got to him he was dead! And every one was upset at Him, and heart broken over the loss. Jesus even wept! notice though that in the statement above Jesus didn't say that Lazarus wouldn't die, he just said that it wouldn't end in death! to often we see what looks like the end and give up, we start asking God why when someone dies to early, or when the money runs out, or the relationship seems to be over. I would submit that it very well may have bit the dust, but does it have to end that way? Why cant your situation end in a testimony, instead of a literagy? What if David when he was just a sheperd had execpted defeat when the rest of Israel had all but given up against Goliath? Remember Who your Father is, that relationship dosen't have to end, that child dosn't have to stay dead, that air conditioner can work again! When it looks like all is lost, Jesus can resurect your situation! Be encouraged God can give you "Beauty for ashes, Joy for mourning, praise instead of despair." (Isaiah 61:3)
